Southwater Village Hall Pre-School
General Information
Our 'Rules' to keep us safe
The children need to know their boundaries and, as you would expect, we have rules that apply to all children for their own safety. These rules are introduced gradually and the need for them is explained to help the children develop their personal, social and emotional skills.
At pre-school we..
- walk, as running can be dangerous
- are kind to everyone and remember to say 'please and 'thank you'.
- listen when someone is talking.
- leave action figures and pretend weapons at home.
- use scissors and other tools carefully. We keep them on the table and never put them in our mouth.
- remember to put books back on the shelf.
- use the climbing frame and slide with care.
- remember not to take toys or wear dressing up clothes on the climbing frame.
- remember not to wear dressing up clothes when painting, using glue or playing with clay or playdough.
- always have lots of fun.
Refreshments
During the session children enjoy a healthy eating snack and either a drink of milk or water. If your child attends 1 or 2 sessions a week please send in fruit once a week. If your child attends 3 or 4 sessions a week please send in fruit twice, and if your child attends 5 sessions please send in fruit three times a week. Children with allergies may provide their own soya or goat's milk, but juice is not allowed.
Fund Raising
The committee organises many events to raise money for the purchase of new equipment, to subsidise outings and the Christmas party. We are looking for new parents to join the fundraising team. Any help or ideas parents can offer is much appreciated; it does not have to involve hard work and taking part can be great fun!
