Southwater Village Hall Pre-School
Key Worker Scheme
Each new child is assigned a member of staff (key worker), who initially helps them settle into pre-school. It is their ongoing responsiblitiy to encourage the child in their new environment, observe and record their achievements and identify areas for future development.
To support your child's progress, we encourage you to liaise regularly with their key worker. They are generally available before and after each session, or if necessary, an appointment can be arranged. All information is held in confidence and you are required to sign a consent form. You are also invited to complete an 'All about me' sheet, so that home and pre-school can form a partnership in your child's education and development.
During their stay at pre-school, your child will receive three reports:
- A settling in report, after the first term
- A progress report at the end of the term before they can move on to Pre-School Plus
- A final Developmental Record shared with parents and then passed to the infant school, which your child will attend.
